Community Development Block Grant—Coronavirus (CDBG-CV)
Emergency Solutions Grant—Coronavirus (ESG-CV)
In response to Covid-19, the “Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act” (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136, was signed by former President Trump on March 27, 2020, to respond to the growing effects of this historic public health crisis. The CARES Act made available supplemental allocations of Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) and Emergency Solutions Grants – Coronavirus (ESG-CV).
In 2020, Harris County received supplemental allocations from HUD for CDBG-CV and CDBGCV Round 3 for a total amount $18,317,084. In addition, Harris County received supplemental allocations from HUD for ESG-CV Round 1 and ESG-CV Round 2 for a total amount of $12,077,076. This brings the total HUD supplemental funding from the CARES Act for CDBGCV and ESG-CV to $30,394,160. Receipt of the supplemental funding allocation from HUD allows Harris County to proceed with developing a substantial amendment to the approved PY2020 Annual Action Plan. Below are a list of projects funded with supplemental CDBG-CV and ESG-CV funding.
