Citizen and Non-Governmental Organization Outreach
Between the months of May 4 – June 23, 2015 (Memorial Day) and October 22-31, 2015 (Halloween), Harris County was hit by two major flooding events that resulted from severe storms, tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding. As a result, both flooding events were declared as Major Disasters in Harris County.
In an effort to assess the effects of the 2015 flooding events, the Harris County Community Services Department (HCCSD) invites all residents and organizations to provide input through a Flood Damage Survey regarding community development and housing needs. There are two surveys: one for Residents and one for Organizations to complete. The links for the surveys are listed below. Please complete the Flood Damage Survey by November 7, 2016. In addition, please feel free to forward the survey to other residents or organizations that you feel may have been affected by the floods.

HCCSD will also attend several community events and fairs and a public hearing will be held on November 9, 2016 at 10:30 am and 6:00 pm at the Harris County Community Services Department (HCCSD) office location, 8410 Lantern Point, Houston, TX, 77054.
The public hearing will be conducted in English. However, other languages and sign language interpreters can be available upon request. HCCSD will provide for reasonable accommodations for persons needing special accommodations and for persons with Limited English Proficiency (LEP). Requests should be received by HCCSD staff 48 hours prior to the public hearing.
